18th to 24th of August, Bolsena, Italy
From August 18–24, 2025, the Chimerical Intelligence Lab and Baltan Laboratories hosted Beyond the Blue Marble: Summer Camp for Planetary Imaginaries in the stunning setting of Bolsena, Italy. This 7-day program brought together creatives and thinkers from diverse disciplines to explore how image-making can shape alternative planetary imaginaries and influence our shared reality.
Participants engaged in talks, workshops, and collaborative projects, rethinking the iconic Blue Marble image and its role in cosmological ordering. Through historical and philosophical perspectives, the camp questioned how imaginaries impact value systems, economies, and technologies—and how we can reclaim agency in creating new visions for the planet.
The program featured inspiring contributions from guest experts, including Miha Turšič, Corrado Melluso, Laura Tripaldi, Freddy Paul Grunert, and Cristina Fiordimela, who shared insights on art, science, philosophy, and design.
